Understanding before Moving: Part 1 – Herman Grooten Together with my Belgian chess pal Daniel Vanheirzeele, the owner of Thinkers Publishing, I have been enabled to discuss the backgrounds of openings in a much more detailed manner, something I couldn’t do in my article series because of the lack of space.
This book provides an overview of the positions an corresponding plans arising from the Ruy Lopez and Italian Openings. This learning method was developed by the author enabling the chess player to understand any structure that is derived from both opening set-ups.
This is not an opening theory course, or a tactics course, it is an opening strategy course conceived to boost your understanding of the fundamentals.
The author says this will prove very valuable to average club player and increase his or her ability to deal with deviations.
