Grandmaster Training Camp 2 – Attack! is the second part of a unique series inviting you to participate in a training camp with Super-GM Sam Shankland.

Join the former US Champion as he works through 323 attacking puzzles set to him by his long-time trainer. Sam shares what he saw, what he did not see, and what he

thinks about the problems and the skills needed to solve them. With exercises categorized by theme and difficulty level, the training material is both accessible to club players

and challenging to grandmasters. Hone your attacking skills using concepts such as Momentum, Evolution/Revolution, the Killzone, and much more.

These themes are explained in more detail in the sister volume, A Killer Guide to Attacking Chess by GM Jacob Aagaard.

Grandmaster Training Camp 2

Sam Shankland won the 2018 US Championship and has won both individual and team gold medals at Chess Olympiads. An acclaimed author, his previous books

for Quality Chess have received glowing praise for presenting deep insights in an easy-to-understand manner.

«Usefully, the material is split into the exact same chapters as those seen in Aagaard’s book( A Killer Guide to Attacking Chess ), giving the twinned project perfect continuity.

What makes this volume very different to numerous other training books is the way in which Shankland shares his thoughts alongside the solutions.

The books work very well as a pair. The first one( A Killer Guide to Attacking Chess ) is clearly more accessible than the second,

as was clearly the intention and, as always, readers will need to put in a lot of hard word to reap the benefits.» – Sean Marsh

Sam Shankland

As a professional chess player, your top priority is to consistently train and keep yourself sharp in between events. But this is not always easy to do! Unlike in a team sport,

no teammates will yell at you for not showing up to practice. The motivation to solve exercises and work to improve your chess has to ultimately come from within.

But I have found that I do a much better job of consistently getting work done when I have a deadline to meet. When I must complete a certain number of problems by a specific date.

Thus, the concept of Grandmaster Training Camp was born.
